How does it work?
We’ll send you a questionnaire to fill out, and then give you a call to discuss further. Once we have an idea of your personal style and what you need from your wardrobe, we go searching. You’ll receive a digital lookbook with links to individual pieces and outfit suggestions.
Do I need to meet with you in person?
No, our service is fully virtual.
Will my items be standard or personalized to me?
We perform our search with your needs and style specifically in mind. The suggestions you receive will be fully personalized to you.
My size isn’t available at every store. Can you accommodate this?
Yes! We can focus our search on stores that have a range of sizes.
How quickly can I get my items?
It typically takes about two weeks from when you first contact us to when you receive your lookbook. We check before sending recommendations to ensure your size is in stock, but stock can move quickly so we recommend purchasing the items you’re interested in as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Shipping times vary by retailer.
Are the clothes included in the price? Do you buy the clothes for me?
No, the cost of the items we recommend isn’t included in our packages and we don’t make the purchases for you. The fee is for the personal styling service. You’ll be provided with links to consider purchasing.
How much should I be prepared to spend on clothes?
It depends on your budget, but we find budgeting $75-150 per item allows you to build a wardrobe that will look great and last. We look for affordable items wherever possible, including second-hand pieces if you’re open to that.
What if I don’t like the pieces?
We know clothing preferences can be personal. A big part of our service is getting to know your likes, dislikes, and needs before we go hunting so we can find what’s best for YOU specifically. If what we share doesn’t quite work for you, we’re always open to hearing your feedback and going through one round of changes to the pieces we suggested, within three weeks of when we first sent them over. We don’t offer refunds but will always do our best to make it right.
Which stores do you make suggestions from?
We’ll consider any store that can be shopped online. We prioritize Canadian brands, those with sustainable practices, and brands that we believe to be high quality. We also look at sites like Poshmark to find second-hand items. We will tailor this to your preferences if provided in the questionnaire.
Do you have a relationship with the stores you recommend items from? Can you help if I have an issue with a purchase?
We don't have a relationship with the retailers or brands we recommend items from, so we can't make any guarantees about their products and services. We recommend items from brands that we believe have fair, sustainable business practices and high quality products. That being said, stores change over time, are not always consistent in their practices, and we rely on publicly available information to assess items and brands. As the purchaser of the items, you’re responsible for ensuring you’re comfortable with prices, quality and store policies such as those related to returns and exchanges.
Who will have access to the information I share?
We collect information from you through a Google form. The results are protected by a Google password shared among the Findery’s three owners. We will not share any information about you without your specific permission (e.g., we’ll ask first if we want to share a testimonial on social media). From time-to-time we may share images from mood boards on our social media pages or website, but we will not include your name without permission.
